Friends

I know this is a little late but I have the greatest friends in the world. I just had another awesome birthday, this time at my sister's house. We drank, we sang, we had a blast. The love I felt coming from my family and friends was incredible, that was the best birthday present I could have ever asked for. My family is my foundation, but my friends are my rock. Thank you.

The Princess Bride

True Love - The Princess Bride way Check this out, it's from the book version of the Princess Bride, "An interview with Buttercup": "That's the thing about love. It's not always pretty. It's not always polite and noble and selfless. Sometimes it's ugly and jealous and resentful. Sometimes it's scary and hurtful. Nobody's perfect, you know. There are times I've wanted more than anything NOT to love him. But you see, it was never my choice. Love is like that. At least, TRUE LOVE is. And when you come right down to it, what's the point of any other kind? True love is when you not only love the other person for who they are, with all their flaws and imperfections, and all their virtues too, but for who they can be at their absolute best, and you're willing to do everything, even die, to help them reach that absolute best. True love means taking the biggest risk of all: opening your heart to a fellow human being, a creature as fallible

Some of my favorite "Tuesdays with Morrie" quotes

Discuss... "Accept what you're able to do and what you're not able to do. "Accept the past as past, without denying it or discarding it "Learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others. "Don't assume that it is too late to get involved." -p18 "Well for one thing, the culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. We're teaching the wrong things. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture doesn't work, don't buy it. Create your own. Most people can't do it. They're more unhappy than me - even in my current condition. O may be dying, but I am surrounded by loving, caring souls. How many people can say that?" -pg 40 "Love. Love always wins" -pg 40 "So many people walk around with a meaniningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they are busy doing things they think are important. This is because they are chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is t

Martin Luther King Jr.

"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man’s sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true." ---Martin Luther King Jr.

2006 L.A. Auto Show

Image
My friend and I went to the L.A. Auto Show and I must say, Old School is back. I love the look of some of the new/old "muscle cars". From the Mustang to the Charger to the Camaro to the Challenger. They all have that throw back look. And it works just as well now, as it did in the 60's/70's. When I sat in the Mustang, I didn't want to get out. There were some other cool cars like the million dollar Bugatti, The North American debut of the Porsche Cayman S, the very cool Lexus Concept car (with no rear view mirrors), A very sweet Jeep Gladiator truck, and believe it or not a pretty hot Saturn car called "Sky". I also have to mention a very cool all terrain vehicle by Jeep called the Hurricane. That monster must be a hell of a ride. But I keep thinking about myself in the Mustang or Charger. Cruising down PCH. Revving the engine or taking a tight curve. That would be just awesome...

What do you want to do before you die?

I actually have a list of around 80 things I want to do before I die. But I found a website that let's you post 43 things and see who else wants to accomplish those same goals. It's pretty cool and it's called, ready for this, "43 Things". Here's the direct link to my list so far (I haven't posted everything up yet, so I only have 11): My 43 things The direct link to the homepage is put in the header of this post.

2006 Horoscope

Capricorn in 2006: "In recent years, many Capricorns who thought themselves invicible were put through a serious endurance test . The crisis affected your health, personal relationships , business and even self-image. Now that you are over the hump and back in the race, give yourself some time to gain back your strength and confidence. ( And anyone who thought that you were done is in for a shocker )" I don't normally read or buy into this stuff. But this one, well, I feel it...
